"My Intention for this record is to be meaningful and relevant to what I am feeling in our own time," says Keb' Mo'. "It started out as a collection of protest songs, but it evolved into an album about peace and freedom."

Keb' Mo' is talking about his new album Peace...Back by
Popular Demand - available now on OKeh/Epic
Records. On this new
collection, Keb' Mo' takes
on nine classic message songs of the Sixties and Seventies
and adds a stirring new composition of his own.

Here is the complete track listing in order for
Peace...Back by Popular Demand and the original artist
whose version made the song famous:

1. "For What It's Worth" (Buffalo Springfield)
2. "Wake Up Everybody" (Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes
with Teddy Pendergrass)
3. "People Got to Be Free" (The Rascals)
4. "Talk" (new song by Keb' Mo')
5. "What's Happening, Brother" (Marvin Gaye)
6. "The Times They Are A-Changing" (Bob Dylan)
7. "Get Together" (The Youngbloods)
8. "Someday We'll All Be Free" (Donny Hathaway)
9. "(What's So Funny About) Peace, Love, and
Understanding" (Elvis Costello & the Attractions)
10. "Imagine" (John Lennon)

Peace...Back by Popular Demand was produced by Keb' Mo'
and recorded and mixed in just one month in Los Angeles.
Keb' Mo' plays electric and acoustic guitars, dobro, and
mandolin. The supporting cast includes keyboards player
Jeff Paris and bassist Reggie McBride (both of the Keb'
Mo' Band) along with such veteran session players as
Stephen Ferrone (drums), Paulinho Da Costa (percussion),
Paul Jackson Jr. (electric guitar) and Harvey Mason
(drums).

"If my music can cast even a shadow of peace and understanding on humanity," says Keb' Mo', "well...that will be pretty cool!"

Keb' takes a producer credit on this collection, the most personal album of his remarkable ten-year career.

Recorded in Los Angeles and Nashville, Tennessee, Keb'
continues his deep-rooted blues tradition with the title-track, "France," and "Reily B. King," an homage to B.B. King featuring guitarists Robert Cray and Robben Ford.

Keb's trademark sense of humor crops up on "Prosperity Blues" as he turns the blues idiom inside out proclaiming he's got the blues because he's too happy to sing the blues. Standing in sharp contrast is the poignant "One Friend," a tender song about the power of friendship.

Keb' recalls that the decision to produce Keep It Simple himself was not hard to make. "I knew exactly what I wanted this album to sound like before I started," explains the two-time Grammy-award winner. "I was looking over a list of
producers for this album with my manager, and I said, 'in the time it would take me to explain the sound in my head to a producer, I could just do it myself.' The instant those words came out of my mouth, I knew what I needed to do."
